Cub Scout Pack 903 serves Broken Arrow area Catholic families, including the Parishes of St. Benedict & St. Anne and All Saints School. All 1st through 5th grade boys attending any public, private or home-based school can be a Cub Scout.

Summer Activities

 Participate in any 3 of these activities and
earn the
SUMMER TIME ACTIVITY PIN.

bullet Memorial Day Flag Retreat at Floral Haven Cemetery.  Join area scouts and help retrieve and fold the American Flags displayed at Floral Haven.  Event starts at 4pm.  Theresa and Bruce Babbitt will be coordinating this event for our Pack.  Contact the Babbitts at theresa.babbitt@vgt.net or call 557-1620.
 
bullet Day Camp at Camp Russell June 22-26.  Contact Dave Gray at 633-3668 or grayd@flash.net.
 
bullet Webelos Resident Camp June 19-21.  Contact your Webelos den leader.
 
bullet Drillers Sleep Under the Stars.  On July 10 join area scouts at Driller Stadium to watch the ball game and then pitch a tent out on the field and enjoy a movie on the big screen.  You must sign up for this event so please contact Eileen Gray, the Pack coordinator for this event, and get the information and the sign up form.  252-9802 or gray6@valornet.com.
 
bullet Clean Up in Haskell Park.  On Sunday June 14th at 6pm join Don Schmidt at the park just west of All Saints School on Dallas Ave. and collect trash.  This is our adopted park so we want to help keep it clean.  Bring gloves and a trash bag and when your done go out for ice cream.  Contact Don at 289-4495 or dschmidt@tulsacoxmail.com.

Concert in the Park. On Tuesday Nights in June Broken Arrow has a concert in the park on Main Street.  The concert starts at 7pm and is free.  Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy the bands.  Shawn McGowan will be the coordinator for this event and can be reached by email at lsmcgow@cox.net .  June 16th is Big Band night and is the first choice.  If this day is rained out then June 23rd will be the rescheduled night for Soft Rock.  Plan on meeting by the north entrance of the community center at 6:45.

Standing Long Jump

 1 point for each inch of the long jump

 Scout stands with his feet comfortably apart with toes just behind the takeoff line. He prepares for jumping with knees flexed and arms swinging in a rhythmical motion. He jumps, swinging arms forcefully forward and upward, taking off from the balls of his feet. His jump is measured from the takeoff line to the heel or any part of body that touches the surface nearer the takeoff line.

The better of two trials will be recorded.

Overhand Softball Throw

 1 point for each foot of softball throw.

 Scout may run up to or stand at the line and throw OVERHAND a regulation 12-inch seam rubber or leather-covered softball. The throw is measured from the line to where the ball lands.

The better of two throws will be recorded.

Pushups

 2 points for each pushup in 1 minute

 Scout's starting position is with extended arms and hands placed on floor under shoulders with fingers pointing forward. Extend body do that it is perfectly straight. The weight is supported on the hands and toes. Keeping body tense and straight, bend elbows and touch chest to floor. Return to original position. (The body must be kept straight - the buttocks not raised and the abdomen not sagging.

Sit-ups

 2 points for each sit-up in 1 minute

 Scout lies on his back for starting position, fingers laced behind neck, with knees elevated and feet flat on floor.about 1 foot apart. Another boy holds feet to the floor while each successful sit-up is counted. The boy's back must touch the floor after each sit-up.

50 Yard Dash

 Points based on place: 1st = 100 points, 2nd = 90 points, 3rd = 80 points, 4th = 70 points, 5th = 60 points and all other 50 points for participation

 Scouts are grouped by age and stand behind starting line. Started raises his hand. "On you mark" - All boys step forward to starting line. "Get set" - All boys assume starting position. "Go" - Started brings hand down quickly hitting thigh at same time. The boys leave the starting line and run the 50 yards. As they cross the finish line, their finishing order is recorded.
